USD(A&S) initiated a "Back to Basics" approach to the acquisition workforce.
It focused on streamlining our functional area framework and prioritizing limited training resources for the Defense Acquisition Workforce.
The Back to Basics initiative streamlines the Defense Acquisition Workforce into six functional areas and gives the workforce more flexibility in how it trains for each role.
